The heart of the MSM Machete (Modified Survival Machete) is the universal blade, whose powder-coated, impact-resistant 1065 carbon steel is continued by a full tang in the handle. The front-heavy design distributes the weight of the machete to the tip of the blade, developing first-class chopping and slicing properties. This is also where the secondary cutting edge is found, enabling a wide variety of work such as digging and levering. A sharply serrated saw back covers work with fibrous material.
